ensō yoga is an all-level studio and we welcome and support beginners to help them find the right classes and answer any questions they may have.
why ensō hot yoga?
Why do we practice in a heated room? The wide range of benefits of practicing yoga are amplified by doing so in the heat. Our studios are heated to no more than 38-39˚C.
your body + heat =
- Brings toxins to the skin via sweat
- Boosts the oxygen in our cells, tissues, muscles and organs
- Speeds up the breakdown of glucose and fatty acids
- Makes muscles more elastic, less susceptible to injury
- Improves coordination
- Enhances the immune system
- Increases circulation
- Burns fat more effectively
- Aids in concentration and “staying in the moment”
- Improves the function of the nervous system and decreases anxiety by relaxing the body
- Leaves you feeling great
Please note: We recommend consulting with your doctor before beginning any new exercise program.

steps to success
Starting yoga can be a daunting prospect. Here are a few steps to help you know what to expect:
Step 1
Arrive at least 15 minutes before the class starts – to register, change and settle down.
Step 2
Introduce yourself to the teacher before class begins. Let them know about any health concerns you might have and let them know this is your first class. Feel free to ask questions before and after class!
Step 3
Watch and listen to the teacher for guidance and cues.
Step 4
Pace yourself and listen to your body.
Step 5
Feeling overheated or dizzy, and need to rest? No worries. Take a deep breath, sit or lay down and take a quick break. We encourage not leaving the room- whenever possible stay on your mat and relax. And, by all means, donʼt hesitate to signal to the instructor if you need support.
Step 6
Be patient. Everyone in the class may be at different levels so allow yourself several classes to get into the flow – remember, the more you practice, the more youʼll benefit from each class.
Step 7
Drink plenty of water before class and after class. Try to only drink as much water as you need during class. And try not to put out the fire by drinking too much!
